Jack Ponzio picked a great time to finish off his hat trick for Connetquot.
The Team 91 2023 Bandits sniper and Thunderbirds’ eighth-grader buried a feed from fellow ’23 Bandit Tyler McCarthy with 2:35 left in double overtime to give Connetquot a 10-9 win over Floyd.
Ponzio also tacked on an assist, while McCarthy finished with a goal and four assists. Michael Carere (’19 White/Saint Joseph’s) forced the extra frame with his second goal of the game with 49 seconds to go in regulation. Tyler Cordes (’20 Crush/Navy) scored twice and added an assist.
Babylon 11, Port Jefferson 10: Jack Speidell (’23 Bandits) had a goal and an assist for Port Jefferson.
Bayport-Blue Point 16, Hauppauge 2: James Ringer (’19 Orange/Rutgers) scored four times and added an assist to lead BBP, which also got a goal and an assist from JJ Aiello (’23 Bandits), a goal from Jameson Smith (’22 Smash) and an assist from Gavin LoCascio (’22 Smash).
Long Island Lutheran 15, Fieldston 8: Jackson Greene (’23 Bandits) had two goals and an assist to pace LI Lutheran.
