Overtime was Nik Barbero Time for Ward Melville on Saturday.

The Team 91 2023 Bandits attackman and Siena signee capped off his hat trick with the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Patriots past Connetquot, 10-9.

“I wanted to stick it to end the game,” Barbero told Newsday’s Dean Zulkofske. “That was the goal. I wanted it to end right there. The two guys cutting down the middle, they’re the priority. But them cutting down creates so much attention that leaves me open around the back. Once I got the right cut and saw (Stephen) Rosano come around, I just knew it was going to happen there.”

Barbero’s hat trick was his third in the past four games for Ward Melville. ’24 Wolfpack Zach Brittman (Iona) paired a goal with an assist in the win.

’23 Bandits Tyler McCarthy (Syracuse) ripped home a hat trick to go with an assist for Connetquot. The T-Birds also got a hat trick from ’23 Warriors Tyler Moore (Saint Joseph’s).

Half Hollow Hills 14, Smithtown East 13

’25 Anthony Raio‘s fourth assist of the game set up the game-winner for Hills as part of a one-goal, five-point day for Raio. ’25 Shock Sal Santoro stopped seven shots sent his way. ’25 Shock defenseman Jojo Filardi got in the offensive action with a goal and an assist for Hills.

Sachem North 15, Floyd 5

’23 Warriors Cody Suhr went off for two goals and three assists to pave the way for Sachem North. ’23 Warriors Nick Meoni (Quinnipiac) added two goals and two helpers and ’23 Warriors James Reid (Albany) chipped in a goal in then win.

Northport 19, Commack 5

’25 Shock Dylan Baumgarth put on a show at the faceoff stripe, winning 20 of 22 faceoffs and setting up a goal to fuel Northport’s rout. ’23 Warriors Macklin O’Brien (Geneseo) scored once and set up another in the win.

’25 Shock James Pagano buried two goals to lead Commack.

Massapequa 13, Scarsdale 10

’26 Storm Tyler Byrnes handed out two assists to go with a goal for the Chiefs.

Oceanside 7, Hewlett 6

’23 Warriors Nicky Cairo (Middlebury) set up the game-winner in double overtime for Oceanside.

Fairfield Prep 13, Chaminade 12

’24 Wolfpack Pat Flaherty (Navy) went off for four goals and an assist for the Flyers.
