This might be some next-level scouting, but someone might want to start covering Nick Turrini.
The Team 91 2019 Orange midfielder continued his torrid start to his senior campaign with his second hat trick as Calhoun upended Bethpage, 7-5.
Turrini, an Army commit, also added an assist for the Colts (3-0), pushing his season total to a whopping eight goals and five assists. ’19 Orange teammate Kyle Munson (Drexel) was stout in the Calhoun cage, turning aside 12 shots sent his way.
Brandon Bestany (’19 White/McDaniel) scored once and set up another goal for Bethpage.
Mount Sinai 18, Half Hollow Hills West 5: The Mustangs continued their offensive explosion as Joey Spallina (’20 Crush/’22 Smash) had three goals and five assists, Brandon Ventarola (’21 Blaze) scored five times and Kevin Sweeney put forth a dominant 21-for-25 day at the faceoff X. Tyler Gatz (’21 Blaze) added a hat trick and an assist. Jake Spallina (’23 Bandits) won both of his faceoffs.
Christian Mulé (’19 Orange/Duke) paced Hills West with a goal and two helpers, while Danny Zabbia (’21 Ambush) netted two goals.
Shoreham-Wading River 8, Bayport-Blue Point 6: Xavier Arline (’20 Crush/North Carolina) scored three times and set up four more goals, Johnny Schwarz (’21 Blaze) tallied twice and Gavin Gregorek (’20 Crush/Navy) scored once as the Wildcats edged BBP. Robbie Troyano (’21 Blaze) made six saves for SWR. JJ Aiello (’23 Bandits) had a goal and an assist in the loss.
South Side 14, Floral Park 11: Nick LiCalzi (’20 Crush/Navy) and Brady West (’22 Smash) each had an assist for South Side.
Long Beach 12, Plainedge 9: LSM Daniel Barto (’20 Orange) set up a pair of goals and Trey Sofield (’20 Orange) tallied once in Long Beach’s first win of the year.
Mattituck/Southold 18, West Babylon 3: Dane Reda (’20 Crush) was in a giving mood, setting up six goals and setting up another as Mattituck rolled.
Glenn 11, Rocky Point 7: The tandem of Cory Capri (’20 Orange) and Justin Tiernan (’19 Orange/Lehigh) proved to be way too much for Rocky Point. Capri sniped five goals and had a hand in two others, while Tiernan exploded for a three-goal, six-assist day. Teddy Accardi (’19 White/Air Force) dished out two assists to go with a goal for Rocky Point, which also got two goals from Kyle Bonesteel (’19 White).
Harborfields 20, Deer Park 1: Nick Caccamo (’20 Crush) scored once and led a dominant defensive effort for Harborfields.
St. John The Baptist 11, Seaford 6: Connor Buschle (’19 White) paired a goal with an assist in the win. Ryan Butler (’19 White) found the back of the net once for Seaford.
Wantagh 12, Port Washington 11: Troy Donaghy (’22 Smash) netted a goal for the Warriors. AJ Galassi (’19 Orange)was strong again in the Port Washington cage with 16 saves.
Cold Spring Harbor 10, Syosset 9: Andrew Giovinco (’19 Orange/Air Force) scored twice for the Braves, who also got an assist from Christian Lyons (’19 White/Manhattan).
Islip 11, Kings Park 5: Christian Michaels (’19 White/UMBC) performed admirably for Kings Park, stopping 19 shots.
Babylon 8, Bellport 6: Shawn Wolf (’19 White/Saint Joseph’s) led the Clippers with two goals and an assist, and James MacGilvray (’19 White/Western Connecticut State) added a goal and an assist.
North Shore 14, MacArthur 6: Joey Forchelli (’23 Warriors) led MacArthur with two goals – his first two career markers – and an assist.
’23 Warriors’ Joey Forchelli had three points for MacArthur.
