Scoring goals against Jared Paquette might prove to be problematic for a lot of teams this year.
The Team 91 2019 White goalie, West Islip senior and Yale commit looked to be in midseason form already in the Lions’ season opener, denying 11 shots sent his way as West Islip shut down Eastport-South Manor, 7-5.
Paquette led the way as West Islip limited ESM to just two second-half goals.
Half Hollow Hills East 12, Kellenberg 9: Sam Rothman (’21 Ambush) and LSM Sal Pascarella (’19 White/Saint Joseph’s) each bagged hat tricks and Brett Martin (’20 Crush/Johns Hopkins) added a pair of goals as the Thunderbirds edged Kellenberg. Elijah Faltz (’21 Ambush) also scored and Logan Schanars (’21 Ambush) helped hold Kellenberg to just three goals in the first three quarters.
