Trying to stop Taylor Strough was an exercise in futility this week.
The Team 91 alum by way of Cold Spring Harbor was a man on a mission for Fairfield. He bagged a ridiculous six goals, including the game-tying goal in the final minute as well as the overtime winner, as the Stags upended Bryant, 11-10. He followed it up with two more goals as Fairfield beat Utah, 10-9, in overtime.
Strough added a combined four ground balls to his totals.
Virginia 13, Notre Dame 11
Ian Laviano has officially reached “out of control” status. He jumpstarted the ‘Hoos’ comeback with one of his five goals as he scored at least four goals for the fourth time in five games to go along with four ground balls as UVA made it four straight wins.
Saint Joseph’s 15, NJIT 11
Ryan Doran burned NJIT to the tune of a hat trick, a ground ball and a caused turnover and Matt Tufano added a goal and two helpers as the Hawks rolled.
Marist 10, Monmouth 7
Jake Weinman continued his strong play with two goals, an assist and a ground ball as the Red Foxes were able to overcome a pair of goals from Casey Kimmel.

Jordan Ginder had himself a week for the Blue Devils, going a perfect 14-for-14 with 12 ground balls against the Utes and following it up with his first career goal against the Tigers alongside four faceoff wins. Cam Mulé scored his first goal of the season against Utah.
Penn 19, Princeton 10
Sean Lulley couldn’t be stopped for the Quakers as he paired two goals with three assists as Penn put together a 12-1 run to hammer the Tigers.
Air Force 20, Mercer 8
Vin Lombardi spearheaded a defense that yielded only three goals in the first three quarters by gobbling up three ground balls and causing a turnover.
Lehigh 15, Lafayette 7
Anthony Tangredi caused a turnover and recovered a ground ball and Mike Monitto had a pair of ground balls as the Mountain Hawks won their fourth straight.
Loyola 18, Navy 5
Riley Cox had a ground ball as the Greyhounds hammered the Mids.
Hofstra 9, St. John’s 7
Providence 11, Hofstra 10
Ryan Tierney toasted the Johnnies for three goals, two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers, Riley Forte tucked in a goal and Bobby Casey stuffed 15 shots in the Pride’s win. Tierney added a goal, two assists and three ground balls against the Friars, Forte added another goal and two ground balls and Casey denied 12 shots sent his way.
UMass Lowell 13, Dartmouth 8
Dartmouth 11, Binghamton 7
Jack Richardson caused a turnover for Dartmouth against the River Hawks, then added a goal, three ground balls and a caused turnover as the Big Green upended the Bearcats. Kyle Tiernan (four ground balls) and Tom Galgano (three ground balls) were defensive machines for Binghamton, while TJ Tiernan scored once.

Ethan Rall caused a turnover in both games for the Scarlet Knights, and he also had four ground balls against the Orange and one against the Mountain Hawks.

Kevin Mack had a goal, an assist and a caused turnover for the Wolverines.

Justin Lynskey scored twice, set up another and had two ground balls for the Crusaders.

Jake Wandle had himself a week for the Rams, going for two goals and two assists, two goals, and three goals and two assists as FSC secured two wins.
