For an early February game, Xavier Arline sure looked to be in midseason form.
The Team 91 2020 Crush and Shoreham-Wading River alum was at the top of his game for Navy. He tied a career-high with four goals and added a pair of assists as the Mids rolled Hofstra, 16-8.
Arline’s off to a hot start with seven goals and two assists in Navy’s first two games. ’20 Crush defenseman Nick LiCalzi (South Side) led a staunch defensive effort with a ground ball.

The ’21 Blaze defenseman from Shoreham-Wading River scored for the second straight game to highlight the Blue Devils’ rout. He also chipped in a takeaway and a ground ball.
Defending Tewaaraton winner ’20 Crush Brennan O’Neill was up to his usual tricks, tallying eight points on the strength of six assists and two goals while also adding four ground balls. All-American defenseman ’19 Orange Kenny Brower (Massapequa) led the Duke defense with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. The ’20 Crush / St. Anthony’s tandem of Aidan Danenza (two ground balls) and Andrew McAdorey (one ground ball) both scored.
’19 Orange SSDM Jake Caputo (Middle Creek, N.C.) scored once for Duke, which also got a ground ball from ’19 Orange LSM Tyler Carpenter (Salisbury, Conn.).

The Orange started their week by whacking the upstart Raiders, thanks in large part to a nine-point day from ’22 Smash Joey Spallina. The Mount Sinai product also added three ground balls for ‘Cuse, which got a three-goal, one-assist, one-ground ball day from ’22 Smash Michael Leo (St. Anthony’s).
’19 Orange Christian Mulé (Half Hollow Hills West) doled out two assists to go with a goal in the win. ’20 Crush defenseman Nick Caccamo (Harborfields) led the defensive effort with three ground balls and a pair of takeaways. ’23 Bandits SSDM Jake Spallina (Mount Sinai) collected his first career ground ball.
The Orange looked even sharper in their second game of the week. Joey Spallina handed out seven assists to go with three goals, two ground balls and a takeaway. He became the first ‘Cuse player to register 10 points in a game since Ryan Powell did it in 2000. Pretty good company.
’20 Crush Tyler Cordes (Connetquot), Leo and Mulé (two ground balls) each added a goal. Caccamo corralled three ground balls to pace the defense.

’21 Blaze goalie Mason Oak (Comsewogue) played out of his mind in the Bobcats’ cage, denying 19 shots sent his way and collecting two ground balls to open Quinnipiac’s season with a win.
’20 Crush defenseman Jack Schirtzer (Mount Sinai) had a takeaway and grabbed a ground ball for St. John’s. ’19 Orange goalie Kyle Munson (Calhoun) stopped four shots and had three ground balls, while ’20 Orange defenseman Jack McCarthy added a ground ball.

’21 Blaze Johnny Schwarz (Shoreham-Wading River) had a goal and an assist to help the Tar Heels pull away from the Bears.
His twin brother, ’21 Blaze LSM Tyler Schwarz, racked up a pair of ground balls for UNC. ’23 Bandits Owen Duffy (St. Anthony’s) doled out an assist in his collegiate debut.

’23 Warriors defenseman Michael Cassano (MacArthur) had himself a debut for the Red Foxes, taking the ball away twice and picking up a ground ball in Marist’s win.
’21 Blaze Aidan McCaffrey (Comsewogue) also registered two takeaways for Marist.

’19 Orange John Sidorski (East Islip) paired a goal with an assist to fuel the Scarlet Knights’ win.
’19 Orange Blake Behlen (Commack) handed out three assists for the Seawolves. SBU also got a takeaway from ’19 Orange LSM Gerald Filardi (Half Hollow Hills West).

’20 Orange Trey Sofield (Long Beach) gobbled up a trio of ground balls to go with a goal and ’21 Blaze Matt Keegan (Sachem North) scored once and collected a ground ball for the Bearcats.

’20 Crush defenseman Trevor Marsala (Mount Sinai) grabbed three ground balls and pickpocketed a pair of turnovers for the Saints. ’21 Ambush Ryan McCarthy (Northport) paired a goal and an assist.
