You don’t have to look very hard to find Justin Tiernan on the list of the top goal scorers in the country.

The Team 91 2019 Orange sniper by way of John Glenn sits atop the national leaderboard after a two-game, eight-goal week to help Michigan beat Jacksonville, 13-10, and Delaware, 13-8.

Tiernan tallied four times to go with two ground balls and a caused turnover against the Dolphins. He then added four more goals and a ground ball to help the Wolverines topple the Blue Hens. He’s first nationally with 26 goals and has scored a hat trick in every game and at least four goals in every game but one.

Notre Dame 14, Maryland 9

’23 Bandits Jordan Faison (Pine Crest, Fla.) continues to impress on any field he steps on for Notre Dame. The Irish two-sport standout went off for a hat trick, two assists and two ground balls to lead the defending national champs in a battle of top-10 teams.

Syracuse 19, High Point 13

’19 Orange Christian Mulé (Half Hollow Hills West) buried a hat trick and chipped in an assist, a ground ball and a caused turnover for the Orange against the Black Knights. ’22 Smash Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) handed out two assists to go with two ground balls. ’22 Smash Michael Leo (St. Anthony’s) paired a goal with an assist to go with two ground balls. ’20 Crush defenseman Nick Caccamo (Harborfields) vacuumed up two ground balls to boot.

Spallina led the way in the blowout of the Panthers with seven goals and two assists, a ground ball and a takeaway. Mulé was on fire, too, with two goals, two assists and two ground balls. Leo tacked on two goals, while Caccamo took the ball away once.

Navy 16, Boston University 9

’20 Crush Xavier Arline (Shoreham-Wading River) was a force for the Midshipmen. The two-sport standout netted a hat trick, set up two more goals, secured five ground balls and caused a turnover as Navy sailed past the Terriers in the teams’ Patriot League opener.

’19 Orange faceoff specialist Angelo Petrakis (Massapequa) had a productive week for the Big Red, led by a 9-for-15 game with two ground balls against Hobart. He added four wins in eight attempts, plus one ground ball, in the victory over the Buckeyes.

’21 Blaze Danny Caddigan (Smithtown West) popped off for two goals, an assist, a ground ball and a takeaway against the Statesmen. He chipped in a goal and an assist against Ohio State.

’19 White defenseman Vincent Orlando (Bayport-Blue Point) helped the Statesmen to a win with two caused turnovers and a ground ball.

After dropping a close one to the Quakers, Duke got back to looking like the preseason national title favorite thanks to two goals, two assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover from ’20 Crush Brennan O’Neill (St. Anthony’s).

’20 Crush Andrew McAdorey (St. Anthony’s) had two goals, an assist and two ground balls for the Blue Devils, who also got a quartet of ground balls and a takeaway from ’19 Orange LSM Tyler Carpenter (Salisbury, Conn.)’19 Orange SSDM Jake Caputo (Middle Creek, N.C.) paired a goal with a takeaway, while ’19 Orange defenseman Kenny Brower (Massapequa) and ’21 Blaze defenseman Jake Wilson (Shoreham-Wading River) each had a takeaway. ’20 Crush Aidan Danenza (St. Anthony’s) added a ground ball in Duke’s rout.

Danenza erupted for a career-best four goals to go with a ground ball against Penn. McAdorey had a two-goal, one-assist, one-ground ball day. Duke also got two takeaways and two ground balls from Brower, five ground balls and two caused turnovers from Carpenter. Wilson took the ball away three times and corralled two ground balls. O’Neill tacked on a goal and a ground ball, while Caputo dislodged the ball once.

’23 Bandits Owen Duffy (St. Anthony’s) led the Tar Heels with four goals, two assists, two caused turnovers and a ground ball against the Tigers. ’21 Blaze LSM Tyler Schwarz (Shoreham-Wading River) added two ground balls and a takeaway against Princeton. His twin brother, ’21 Blaze Johnny, paired a goal with an assist to go with two ground balls against Penn. Duffy added two goals and a takeaway in the Tar Heels’ win.

’19 Orange Nick Turrini (Calhoun) got the Mountain Hawks’ week off to a hot start by setting up a goal in Lehigh’s win. He then chipped in a ground ball against the Wildcats.

After scooping up two ground balls against Lehigh, ’21 Blaze Brandon Ventarola (Trinity-Pawling) was a man on a mission against the Saints. He set up three goals, scored one of his own, snagged six ground balls and caused a turnover.

’21 Ambush Ryan McCarthy (Northport) was a beast all week for the Saints. He dished out three assists to go with two ground balls against Le Moyne, then followed it up with a goal, three assists and a ground ball against Dartmouth. ’20 Crush Trevor Marsala (Mount Sinai) continued his thieving ways with a combined five takeaways for Siena and matching that with five ground balls.

’19 Orange LSM Greg Campisi (St. Anthony’s) was absolutely ridiculous against Merrimack with nine ground balls and three takeaways to lead the defense. ’23 Bandits Jackson Greene (St. Anthony’s) added a goal, an assist and a ground ball in the win.

Campisi followed it up with a takeaway and a ground ball against the Catamounts. ’23 Bandits Jack Speidell (St. Anthony’s) chipped in a ground ball as Harvard moved to 5-0.

Johns Hopkins 16, Virginia 14

’20 Crush SSDM Brett Martin (Half Hollow Hills East) caused a turnover and seized a ground ball to help the Blue Jays to a win in a battle of top-5 teams.

Quinnipiac 15, Merrimack 12

’21 Blaze goalie Mason Oak (Comsewogue) continued his strong first season as a starter with a 15-save, an assist (!) and a takeaway to help the Bobcats move to 4-0.

’23 Warrior Nick Meoni (Sachem North) grabbed a ground ball in the win.

Stony Brook 23, Hampton 2

’23 Bandit Joey Rice (St. Anthony’s) made his first career save and grabbed his first career ground ball to highlight the Seawolves’ rout.

’22 Smash Sean Carlo (Wantagh) had a goal, an assist and a ground ball. ’22 Smash Jaden Baldwin (St. Dominic) scooped up two ground balls and caused a turnover. ’23 Warrior Owen McIntee (St. Anthony’s) won seven of nine faceoffs and ’20 Crush SSDM Dane Reda (Mattituck) added an assist and a ground ball.

Rutgers 13, Hofstra 8

’19 Orange John Sidorski (East Islip) bagged a goal and scooped up a ground ball as the Scarlet Knights moved to 4-1.

’19 Orange Sam Lutfi (Massapequa) buried a pair of goals and added an assist for the Pride.

Saint Joseph’s 15, Air Force 11

’19 White defenseman Alex Keener (Bethpage) led the Hawks with three ground balls and a caused turnover as St. Joe’s picked up its first win of the season.

’20 Crush LSM Chris Bardak (St. Anthony’s) had another standout game for the Falcons, taking the ball away four times and grabbing three ground balls.

’21 Blaze defenseman AJ Volkmann (Mount Sinai) gobbled up a trio of ground balls and ’21 Blaze SSDM Ryan Baudo (St. Anthony’s) added a ground ball to lead the Sharks to their third straight win.

’19 Orange Kyle Munson (Calhoun) made nine stops, collected seven ground balls and took the ball away once to lead the Red Storm to their first win in two years.

’20 Crush defenseman Jack Schirtzer (Mount Sinai / IMG) and ’20 Orange defenseman Jack McCarthy (Connetquot) each added a ground ball in the win. Schirtzer followed it up with three takeaways and three ground balls against the Dolphins, while Munson denied a dozen shots. McCarthy scooped up two ground balls and ’20 Orange goalie Ronnie Durante (Lindenhurst) stopped a shot in relief.

Queens got a ground ball from ’20 Orange defenseman Colby Suglia (Mattituck).

Penn State 15, Yale 14

’21 Blaze Machado Rodriguez (Chaminade) was terrific at the faceoff stripe, winning 12 of 19 draws to go with 10 ground balls for the Bulldogs. ’19 White Jared Paquette (West Islip) was great in goal with 15 saves and a caused turnover. ’22 Smash defenseman Patrick Pisano (Cold Spring Harbor) vacuumed up a half-dozen ground balls to go with a takeaway, while ’19 Orange defenseman Mike Alexander (West Islip) added a ground ball.

UMass 12, Albany 11

’22 Smash Alex Pfeiffer (Sachem North) snapped home a goal to go with three ground balls for the Great Danes. Albany also got a pair of ground balls from ’22 Smash defenseman Max Neeson.

Richmond 19, Binghamton 10

’21 Blaze Matt Keegan (Sachem North) paired a goal with an assist and the Bearcats also got a ground ball from ’20 Orange Trey Sofield (Long Beach).

Georgetown 11, Brown 5

’20 Crush SSDM Kevin Sweeney (Mount Sinai) collected a pair of ground balls and ’22 Smash Marcus Wertheim (Smithtown East) doled out an assist for the Bears.

Bellarmine 11, Marist 10

’21 Blaze defenseman Aiden McCaffrey (Comsewogue) nearly willed the Red Foxes to a win with a ludicrous six-caused turnover, four-ground ball effort. ’23 Warriors defenseman Michael Cassano (MacArthur) contributed a trio of ground balls for Marist.

’20 Crush goalie Jayson Tingue (Bay Shore) stopped 10 shots for the Retrievers.

Bryant 12, Manhattan 7

’19 White Christian Lyons (Syosset) took the ball away once for the Jaspers.

’21 Ambush Danny Zabbia (Half Hollow Hills West) picked up where he left off last year with three goals, two ground balls and a takeaway in Pace’s opener. He then upped that against Wilmington with four goals, two assists and four ground balls as Pace swept its first week.

’19 White Christian Michaels (Kings Park) made 19 saves to go with a ground ball and a takeaway against Pace. He followed it up with 11 saves in Molloy’s win over Dominican.

Wingate 23, Mount Olive 6
Wingate 23, Mars Hill 5

’19 White Marc Cottage (Smithtown West) scored once and added an assist, a ground ball and a takeaway as Wingate crushed Mount Olive. He followed it up with two goals in the rout of Mars Hill.

’21 Ambush Sam Rothman (Half Hollow Hills East) was an absolute mismatch for anyone trying to cover him, finishing the week with nine goals and two assists. He burned St. John Fisher for four goals and a helper before tagging Scranton for five goals, an assist and a pair of ground balls.

’21 Ambush defenseman Conner Gallagher (Northport) snagged four ground balls and caused a turnover against Scranton.

Wilkes 11, Marywood 8
Utica 9, Wilkes 8

Wilkes found the win column for the first time, thanks in large part to a ridiculous effort from Matt Warns. The ’20 Orange LSM by way of Mattituck was all over the field with eight ground balls and three takeaways in Wilkes’ triumph. He also chipped in three ground balls against Utica.

Geneseo 25, Morrisville State 4

’21 Ambush goalie Andrew Tittmann (Northport) made a pair of saves to go with a ground ball in relief as Geneseo rolled.

Albertus Magnus 11, St. Joseph’s 10

’19 White Michael Carere (Connetquot) was a force for the Golden Eagles. He scored five times, set up two more, won 15 of 21 faceoffs and grabbed a dozen ground balls.

Farmingdale State 15, Hartwick 9

’20 Varsity defenseman Nick Cacciola (Shoreham-Wading River) caused two turnovers for Hartwick.

Montclair State 21, Fairleigh Dickinson 3

’21 Ambush defenseman Aidan Bonn (Huntington) collected two ground balls and a caused turnover for FDU.
