Free scouting report for anyone playing Binghamton this year: put someone on Matt Keegan. Maybe two someones. Possibly even three at times.
The Team 91 2021 Blaze sniper and Sachem North alum continued to get acquainted with the back of the net last week. Keegan blasted home six goals on only nine shots to highlight the Bearcats’ 14-9 win over Fairfield. It marked a career-high in goals for Keegan, and it was his fifth multi-goal game of the year.
’18 Extreme LSM Max Verch (Syosset) dislodged a pair of turnovers and handled a pair of ground balls in the Binghamton win. ’20 Orange midfielder Trey Sofield (Long Beach) picked up a ground ball. Earlier in the week in a narrow 14-13 loss to Lehigh, Keegan tallied twice and added an assist and a ground ball. Verch picked up four ground balls and took the ball away twice.

’19 Orange Christian Mulé (Half Hollow Hills West) led the Mountain Hawks in the win over the Bearcats. Mulé dished out three assists to go with a goal and a trio of ground balls. ’19 Orange Justin Tiernan (Glenn) snapped home a hat trick, while ’19 Orange John Sidorski (East Islip) collected two ground balls and caused a turnover in the win.

Tiernan continued his hot streak with a monster five-goal performance to pace Lehigh past Holy Cross, 18-11. Mulé wasn’t far behind with two goals, two assists and two ground balls, while Sidorski handed out two assists, scored once and grabbed a ground ball.

’20 Crush Andrew McAdorey (St. Anthony’s) put up a ridiculous stat line, posting a career-best six assists to go with a hat trick and a ground ball as the Blue Devils rolled to their fourth straight win.
’20 Crush Brennan O’Neill (St. Anthony’s) hammered home a hat trick, ’18 Extreme Owen Caputo (Middle Creek, N.C.) posted a well-rounded stat line of two goals, two assists and two ground balls and ’19 Orange LSM Tyler Carpenter (Salisbury, Conn.) caused a pair of turnovers to go with two ground balls. ’19 Orange defenseman Kenny Brower (Massapequa) vacuumed up a trio of ground balls in the win.

’19 White goalie Jared Paquette (West Islip) was robust in the Bulldogs’ cage, rebuffing 13 attempts sent his way and collecting a pair of ground balls to cement the win. ’21 Blaze Machado Rodriguez (Chaminade) won four faceoffs and tracked down a pair of ground balls, while ’19 Orange defenseman Mikey Alexander (West Islip) caused a turnover in the win.

’20 Crush SSDM Brett Martin (Half Hollow Hills East) was lockdown yet again, causing a turnover and picking up a ground ball to highlight a strong day from the Blue Jays’ defense.
’22 Smash Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) handed out three assists to go with a goal and two ground balls for the Orange. ’22 Smash Michael Leo (St. Anthony’s) snapped home a pair of goals for his third multi-goal game of the year. ’20 Crush defenseman Nick Caccamo (Harborfields) scooped up one ground ball for ‘Cuse.

’21 Ambush Danny Zabbia (Half Hollow Hills West) launched home a pair of goals, set up two more, grabbed two ground balls and caused a turnover to lead Pace to its third straight win to start the season.

’19 White Marc Cottage (Smithtown West) snapped home a hat trick on only four shots as the Bulldogs racked up their fourth straight win.

’21 Ambush defenseman Logan Schanars (Half Hollow Hills East) caused a turnover and collected three ground balls in the rout of Lasell. Fellow ’21 Ambush defenseman Conner Gallagher (Northport) had a caused turnover and a ground ball, while ’21 Ambush Sam Rothman (Half Hollow Hills East) tossed in a goal for the Red Dragons. Schanars and Rothman each added a ground ball in the win over WAC.

’18 Extreme Robbie Varello (Smithtown East) got the party started against Anna Maria with a whopping five-goal, two-assist two-ground ball day, and ’18 Extreme running mate Jake Wandle (Rocky Point) paired three goals with three assists to go with a caused turnover and a ground ball as the Rams rolled.
Wandle connected for his second straight hat trick against Lasell while also adding a ground ball.
