The Garden City Express continues to roll.
Will Puccio (’19 White/Trinity) pocketed four goals and Gavin Pappas (’19 White/Denison) scored once as the Trojans dropped Shoreham-Wading River from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 12-5 decision Thursday.
“We’ve all played together since the seventh grade,” Puccio told Newsday’s Gregg Sarra. “They draw the guys to them away from the net and that leaves me wide open. The guys get me the ball inside and I finish the play. They do all the dirty work.”
Garden City moved to 10-0 with the win, while the Wildcats dropped to 9-1 despite two goals from Xavier Arline (’20 Crush/North Carolina) and two assists from Gavin Gregorek (’20 Crush/Navy). LSM Tyler Schwarz (’21 Blaze)tossed out an assist.
St. Anthony’s 15, Yorktown 7: Brennan O’Neill (’20 Crush/Duke) popped four goals for the Friars, Aidan Danenza (’20 Crush/Duke) paired a goal with an assist and LSM Greg Campisi (’19 Orange/Harvard) and Andrew McAdorey (’20 Crush) each added a goal in St. Anthony’s win. Daniel LePino (’20 Crush) made a pair of saves.
Massapequa 16, Fairfield Prep 7: Angelo Petrakis (’19 Orange/Cornell) was dominant once again, winning 20 of 25 faceoffs and tossing home a goal as the Chiefs rolled over a Connecticut power. Sam Lutfi (’19 Orange/Hofstra)buried a hat trick to go with an assist.
Locust Valley 19, St. Dominic 10: Anthony Sand (’20 Orange/VMI) bagged four goals for St. Dom’s.
Farmingdale 10, Bethpage 6: Defenseman Alex Keener (’19 White/Saint Joseph’s) had an assist for Bethpage.
