Smithtown West started the offensive fireworks early and never relented in Thursday’s 17-3 hammering of Sachem North.
Marc Cottage (’19 White/Wingate) led the offensive outburst with three goals and two assists, Spencer Frank (’19 White/Hartford) tacked on three goals and an assist and Danny Caddigan (’21 Blaze) ripped a hat trick as Smithtown West scored 14 first-half goals.
West Islip 7, Bay Shore 4: A defensive battle featuring a pair of 91 goalies went West Islip’s way as Jared Paquette (’19 White/Yale) tossed aside 13 shots. Jayson Tingue (’20 Crush/UMBC) kept Bay Shore in it with 10 saves.
Syosset 11, Bethpage 6: Tommy Dolciotto (’20 Crush/Stony Brook) scored twice and Andrew Giovinco (’19 Orange/Air Force) tallied once for the Braves.
Lindenhurst 15, Longwood 7: Matt Josefson (’20 Orange) carried the Bulldogs to their first win of the year with three goals and two assists, and Ron Durante (’20 Orange) made the offense stand with a dozen saves.
South Side 17, Lynbrook 3: Brady West (’22 Smash) was handing out presents all day, finishing with five assists, and Nick LiCalzi (’20 Crush/Navy) led a staunch defensive effort while also tacking on a goal in the win.
St. Dominic 15, Baldwin 6: Anthony Sand (’20 Orange/VMI) paired two goals with two assists as St. Dom’s rolled.
Northport 12, Commack 8: Casey Fortunato (’21 Ambush) had a goal to guide Northport. Blake Behlen (’19 Orange/Towson) did his best to help Commack keep pace with a goal and three assists.
Friends Academy 7, Plainedge 6: Michael Walrath (’21 Ambush) had an assist for Friends Academy, which won in double overtime.
Oceanside 7, Long Beach 6: Trey Sofield (’20 Orange) garnered an assist for Long Beach.
Ward Melville 8, Half Hollow Hills East 4: Brett Martin (’20 Crush/Johns Hopkins) sniped once and set up another goal and Sam Rothman (’21 Ambush) scored once for Hills East.
Whitman 9, Patchogue-Medford 8: Pat-Med got a goal and an assist from both Anthony Senecal (’21 Ambush) and Adrian Rutkowski (’20 Orange), but fell in the extra frame.
