A battle of unbeatens decidedly went Bayport-Blue Point‘s way. Ben Morris made darn sure of it.
The Team 91 2024 Wolfpack attackman and Johns Hopkins commitment went off for six goals and two assists to help the Phantoms double up East Islip, 18-9. The win was redemption for an East Islip win last year.
“That was fuel for us. We definitely remembered it,” Morris told Newsday‘s Dean Zulkofske. “It’s a big win, but we have bigger goals. We come out fighting every single time, we press out on guys, we lay some hits.”
’23 Bandits JJ Aiello (Navy) paired two goals with two assists for BBP, which also got a hat trick and an assist from ’23 Warriors PJ Shanahan (St. Bonaventure). ’24 Wolfpack Danny Aiello (Navy) and ’24 Wolfpack Maclin Keyser (St. John’s) each had a goal and an assist. ’23 Warriors Callum McClancy snapped home a pair of goals for BBP. ’24 Wolfpack Brady Smith (Albany) and ’23 Bandits Eric Grahn (Siena) each made a pair of saves in goal.
Mount Sinai 15, West Islip 6
’23 Warriors Cole Marsala (Quinnipiac) was the offensive ringleader for the Mustangs with four goals and four assists. ’23 Bandits Jake Spallina (Syracuse) scored three times, set up two more and won 15 of 18 faceoffs for Sinai, which also got three goals and a helper from ’24 Wolfpack Lucas LaForge (Michigan). ’23 Bandits defenseman Nick Jaferis (Binghamton) tallied once and ’23 Warriors Brayden Wilcken (LIU) stopped five shots.
Glenn 18, Eastport-South Manor 4
’25 Shock Matt Triolo vaulted into the Suffolk county scoring lead by virtue of a superb six-goal, four-assist day for Glenn. ’23 Bandits defenseman Matt Bové (Manhattan) chipped in an assist and led a stingy defense in the win.
Massapequa 18, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 2
’24 Menace Jack Garguilo paced the Chiefs with a hat trick and an assist. ’26 Storm Tyler Byrnes pocketed a pair of goals.
Wantagh 18, Floral Park 6
’26 Storm Devin Paccione set up four goals and scored one to headline Wantagh’s blowout win.
Rocky Point 7, Babylon 5
’26 Storm DJ Xavier denied 10 shots sent his way to preserve the win for Rocky Point.
