Welcome back to the Tampa lineup, Joey Caputo.
The Team 91 2015 alum by way of Half Hollow Hills West was a force for the Spartans in his first game back from a broken wrist, winning 13 of 17 faceoffs as Tampa hammered Embry-Riddle, 25-8.
Caputo also collected nine ground balls for the Spartans, who won their third straight game.
Farmingdale State 6, Calvin 5
Jake Wandle came through in the clutch, burying the overtime winner as the Rams won on their Florida spring break trip. Wandle also scooped up a ground ball.
Virginia 16, Johns Hopkins 11
Ian Laviano scored twice, including this lights-out low-to-high screamer, and added an assist and a ground ball as the ‘Hoos knocked off the rival Blue Jays.
Holy Cross 11, Brown 10
Justin Lynskey set up three goals and added another, plus a ground ball, as the Crusaders topped the Bears in double overtime.
Penn State 15, Cleveland State 11
Mac O’Keefe connected five times and added an assist and a ground ball for his seventh straight game with at least three goals as PSU won its fourth straight. O’Keefe is the top goal scorer in the country, both on a total (36) and per game (4.5) basis.
Yale 15, Princeton 10
Sean Kuttin and Lucas Cotler each grabbed a pair of ground balls as the Bulldogs won their fifth straight game.
Saint Joseph’s 11, Bryant 6
Matt Tufano and Ryan Doran were all over the place for the Hawks, both pairing a goal with an assist. Tufano added three ground balls and a caused turnover, while Doran caused two turnovers and grabbed one ground ball.
Rutgers 10, Hofstra 7
Ethan Rall did it all for the Scarlet Knights, securing four ground balls, causing a turnover and even winning a faceoff as Rutgers tripped up the Pride. Ryan Tierney scored a hat trick and added two ground balls, Bobby Caseystopped eight shots to go with three ground balls and a caused turnover, and Riley Forte scored a goal to go with two ground balls for Hofstra.
Air Force 11, Furman 7
Four in a row and six of seven for the Falcons, thanks in no small part to Vin Lombardi‘s two-caused turnover, two-ground ball day.
Marist 6, Manhattan 5
Jake Weinman sniped twice while also adding three ground balls as the Red Foxes claimed their second win in a row.
Fairfield 18, NJIT 5
Villanova 12, Fairfield 8
Taylor Strough was up to his old tricks again, scoring a hat trick to go with two ground balls in the Stags’ rout. He then added two goals, an assist, a ground ball and a caused turnover against the Wildcats.
Cornell 18, St. Bonaventure 3
Penn 16, Cornell 15
Joseph Bartolotto caused a turnover in the thrashing of the Bonnies, and later added a ground ball against the Quakers. Sean Lulley helped kickstart a Penn comeback by causing a pair of turnovers for the Quakers.
Hobart 10, Sacred Heart 9
The Pioneers fell, but Joe Cipoletti was an absolute monster on defense. He caused a four turnovers and hauled in a whopping seven ground balls for Sacred Heart.
St. John’s 15, Dartmouth 8
Harvard 12, Dartmouth 9
Jack Richardson combined for three ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Big Green.
Albany 12, Binghamton 7
Tom Galgano kept up his strong work on the back end with two caused turnovers and three ground balls, TJ Tiernan had two goals and a ground ball, Kyle Tiernan added two ground balls and a caused turnover and Teddy McLoughlin snagged a ground ball for the Bearcats.
Marquette 9, Georgetown 8
Joe LiCalzi had a ground ball and a caused turnover for the Hoyas.
Syracuse 9, Duke 8
Jordan Ginder won a faceoff and caused a turnover for the Blue Devils.
Notre Dame 12, Michigan 9
Delaware 16, Michigan 13
Kevin Mack had an assist and a ground ball against the Irish, then followed it up with a two-goal, one-assist, one-ground ball day against the Blue Hens.
Detroit Mercy 6, Monmouth 4
Casey Kimmel pocketed half of the Hawks’ offense with a pair of goals.
