The Team 91 2020 Orange attackman by way of John Glenn and the Hill School (Pa.) orchestrated the Delaware offense with a four-assist, one-goal day as the Blue Hens downed Utah, 13-12, in overtime in their season opener.

Capri, a grad transfer from Yale, had a pair of fourth-quarter assists for Delaware. He also contributed a takeaway.

North Carolina 15, Michigan 6

’23 Bandits Owen Duffy (St. Anthony’s) was back to his old self for the Tar Heels. The sophomore sensation scored four times, set up two more goals, took the ball away once and grabbed a ground balls as UNC cruised in its season opener.

Maryland 8, Loyola 7

’21 Blaze Matt Keegan (Sachem North) called game in overtime with his first goal and second point of the game to help the Terps to fend off the Greyhounds’ upset bid.

’22 Smash Brady West (South Side) buried a goal for Loyola.

Syracuse 13, Vermont 5

’22 Smash Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) tied a career-high with 10 points on the strength of five goals and five assists to go with two ground balls as the Orange romped past the Catamounts.

’20 Crush defenseman Nick Caccamo (Harborfields) led a stingy defense with a caused turnover and a ground ball.

Marist 16, Mercer 6

’21 Blaze defenseman Aiden McCaffrey (Comsewogue) was back to his thieving ways with three takeaways to go with four ground balls as the Red Foxes cruised in their season opener.

’23 Warriors LSM Michael Cassano (MacArthur) was an offensive force for Marist, scoring twice, setting up another goal and collecting a ground ball.

’21 Blaze Chris Cappelmann (Smithtown East) won eight faceoffs and scooped up four ground balls for the Bears.

Boston University 9, Siena 7

’24 Wolfpack Ben Morris (Bayport-Blue Point) canned his first Terrier goal on his first career shot and ’24 Wolfpack defenseman Mikey Luce (Bayport-Blue Point) picked up his first two career ground balls as BU topped Siena.

’21 Ambush Ryan McCarthy (Northport) dished out two assists for the Saints.

Duke 14, Jacksonville 9

’20 Crush Andrew McAdorey (St. Anthony’s) spearheaded the Duke offense with a pair of goals to go with two ground balls as the Blue Devils beat the Dolphins.

’21 Blaze defenseman Jake Wilson (Shoreham-Wading River) guided the Blue Devil defense with a caused turnover and ground ball.

Johns Hopkins 11, Towson 10

’23 Bandits LSM Luke Martin (St. Anthony’s) grabbed a pair of ground balls and took the ball away once to help the Blue Jays fend off the Tigers.

’23 Warriors Ronan Fitzpatrick (Sayville) was phenomenal for Towson. The lefty sniper pocketed the first five goals of his career to go with a ground ball to nearly will the Tigers past the Blue Jays.

Hofstra 17, Wagner 5

’22 Smash Anthony Mollica (Massapequa) recorded his second hat trick in as many games, pairing three tallies with an assist and a ground ball in the Pride’s rout.

’21 Blaze SSDM Chris Barry (East Meadow) snared two ground balls in the win.

’22 Smash Jaden Baldwin (St. Dominic) picked up a ground ball to help the Seawolves start their season with a win over a ranked opponent.

’23 Bandits JJ Aiello (Bayport-Blue Point) scored the game’s first two goals for the Scarlet Knights in the win over LIU. He also added a pair of assists against Stony Brook.

’23 Warriors Brayden Wilcken (Mount Sinai) picked up his first career win in the LIU cage with three saves against just one goal allowed after coming into the game in relief in the second half against The Mount. ’21 Blaze SSDM Ryan Baudo (St. Anthony’s) and ’21 Blaze defenseman AJ Volkmann (Mount Sinai) each had a ground ball against Rutgers, while Baudo caused a turnover in the win over the Mount.

Navy 22, Iona 5

’22 Smash Jack Flaherty (Chaminade) and ’23 Bandits Jack Ponzio (St. Anthony’s) each doled out an assist to kickstart Navy’s offensive outburst.

’24 Wolfpack Pat Flaherty (Chaminade / Salisbury) picked up a pair of ground balls.

UMass-Lowell 14, Merrimack 9

’23 Warriors Owen McIntee (St. Anthony’s) won five of eight faceoffs, picking up a trio of ground balls in the process, to give the Riverhawks their first win since 2022.

Penn State 15, Villanova 5

’24 Wolfpack Hunter Aquino (Academy of the New Church, Pa.) helped the Nittany Lions bounce their in-state foes with a goal and an assist.

St. John’s 15, NJIT 14

’19 Orange SSDM Nick Turrini (Calhoun) snagged a pair of ground balls in the Red Storm’s win.

Fairfield 10, Lehigh 7

’24 Wolfpack Luke Breslin (St. Anthony’s) set up a pair of Mountain Hawk goals.
