Team 91 2020 Crush by way of Shoreham-Wading River attackman Xavier Arline put forth a vintage performance Saturday for Navy. The two-sport standout fired home a hat trick and had two assists to help the Midshipmen edge Colgate, 10-9.

Arline’s assists came late as he set up a go-ahead goal with 9:58 to play. He then set up the game-winning goal with 2:47 to play as Navy claimed its third straight victory.

’22 Smash Jack Flaherty (Chaminade) handed out an assist for Navy, which also got a takeaway and a ground ball from ’20 Crush defenseman Nick LiCalzi (South Side).

Marist 11, Mount St. Mary’s 10

Going near ’21 Blaze defenseman Aiden McCaffrey (Comsewogue) isn’t a smart business decision. The lefty put forth a ludicrous four-takeaway, six-ground ball day to help Marist to a win. McCaffrey now ranks second nationally in all of Division I with 29 caused turnovers. ’23 Warriors defenseman Michael Cassano (MacArthur) paired a takeaway with a ground ball for the Red Foxes.

Harvard 13, Dartmouth 7

’23 Bandits Jack Speidell (St. Anthony’s) scored a gorgeous behind-the-back goal and added a ground ball to help the Crimson run past the Big Green. ’19 Orange LSM Greg Campisi (St. Anthony’s) led the defense with a takeaway and two ground balls.

’21 Blaze Brandon Ventarola (Trinity-Pawling) secured a ground ball for Dartmouth.

Yale 12, Penn 9

’22 Smash defenseman Patrick Pisano (Cold Spring Harbor) led a staunch Yale defense with six ground balls and a takeaway as the Bulldogs won their third straight.

’19 Orange defenseman Mikey Alexander (West Islip) picked up four ground balls and took the ball away once. Yale also got 10 saves and two ground balls from ’19 White goalie Jared Paquette (West Islip)’21 Blaze Machado Rodriguez (Chaminade) added six faceoff wins, including four ground balls.

Air Force 11, Bellarmine 7

’20 Crush LSM Chris Bardak (St. Anthony’s) was a force yet again for the Falcons. He scored once, picked up five ground balls and took the ball away twice as Air Force won its fifth straight.

Cornell 18, Syracuse 17

’19 Orange faceoff specialist Angelo Petrakis (Massapequa) won a faceoff to help the Big Red nip the Orange.

Against Brown, Petrakis claimed six wins in 10 faceoffs to go with four ground balls to help Cornell roll.

’22 Smash Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) handed out four assists to go with a hat trick to nearly will Syracuse to a win.

’19 Orange Christian Mulé (Half Hollow Hills West) set up two goals and added a ground ball. ’22 Smash Michael Leo (St. Anthony’s) tallied twice and picked up a ground ball. ’20 Crush defenseman Nick Caccamo (Harborfields) scooped up a ground ball.

’22 Smash Marcus Wertheim (Smithtown East) collected a ground ball for the Bears.

’21 Blaze Matt Keegan (Sachem North) pocketed a pair of goals to go with an assist, two takeaways and a ground ball as the Bearcats won their third straight game. ’20 Orange Trey Sofield (Long Beach) picked up a ground ball in the win.

Siena 13, Quinnipiac 10

’21 Ambush Ryan McCarthy (Northport) handed out three assists and added two ground balls to push the Saints past the Bobcats. ’20 Crush defenseman Trevor Marsala (Mount Sinai) scooped up a ground ball in the win.

’21 Blaze goalie Mason Oak (Comsewogue) continued his superb junior campaign with 17 saves and two ground balls for Quinnipiac.

’21 Blaze Ryan Baudo (St. Anthony’s) tallied his first career goal and picked up a ground ball to help the Sharks win for the eighth time in nine games.

’21 Blaze defenseman AJ Volkmann (Mount Sinai) snatched up three ground balls to lead the LIU defense.

’20 Crush SSDM Brett Martin (Half Hollow Hills East) caused a pair of turnovers, including one on the final possession of regulation to send the game to overtime, as the Blue Jays won in the extra frame.

’23 Bandits Jordan Faison (Pine Crest, Fla.) caused a turnover and snagged a ground ball to help the defending national champs win the rematch of last year’s national title game.

’19 Orange LSM Tyler Carpenter (Salisbury, Conn.) vacuumed up five ground balls and buried his first goal of the season for the Blue Devils.

’20 Crush faceoff midfielder Koby Ginder (Brunswick, Conn.) had a key faceoff win and ground ball to help the Tigers fend off the Mountain Hawks’ upset bid.

’19 Orange Nick Turrini (Calhoun) had a ground ball for Lehigh against Princeton before adding two against the Crusaders. ’22 Smash LSM Matt Sparhuber (Comsewogue) added a ground ball for Lehigh against Holy Cross.

’20 Crush goalie Jayson Tingue (Bay Shore) stopped nine shots to record the win for the Retrievers.

’22 Smash defenseman Max Neeson (Pottsgrove, Pa.) caused three turnovers to go with three ground balls for the Great Danes. Albany also got a pair of ground balls from ’22 Smash Alex Pfeiffer (Sachem North).

’23 Bandits Owen Duffy (St. Anthony’s) set up two goals and scored once to go with five ground balls for the Tar Heels. ’21 Blaze Johnny Schwarz (Shoreham-Wading River) added an assist and a ground ball for UNC.

’22 Smash Anthony Mollica (Massapequa) paired a goal with an assist for the Pride, who also got a ground ball from ’19 Orange Sam Lutfi (Massapequa).

’19 Justin Tiernan (John Glenn) pocketed a goal for the Wolverines. ’23 Bandits defenseman Kevin Kearns (St. Anthony’s) made his Michigan debut and corralled a ground ball in the process.

’19 Orange goalie Kyle Munson (Calhoun) stopped 10 shots for the Johnnies, who also got a pair of saves from ’20 Orange stopper Ronnie Durante (Lindenhurst).

’20 Crush defenseman Jack Schirtzer (Mount Sinai) had a takeaway, while ’20 Orange defenseman Jack McCarthy (Connetquot) chipped in a ground ball.

’20 Orange defenseman Colby Suglia (Mattituck) did everything he could for the Royals, grabbing four ground balls and taking the ball away three times.

’21 Ambush Danny Zabbia (Half Hollow Hills West) came through in the clutch, firing home his fourth goal of the game in triple overtime as the Setters nipped Bentley.

Zabbia also chipped in two ground balls before torching SNHU for six goals, an assist and a ground ball. That performance allowed him to eclipse the 100-point plateau for his career.

’19 White goalie Christian Michaels (Kings Park) rebuffed a baker’s dozen shots for the Lions.
