You’d think Bucknell would have stopped trying to dodge Pat Flaherty after, like, the first two caused turnovers. The Bison did not.

The Team 91 2024 Wolfpack alum by way of Chaminade and Salisbury (Conn.) was an absolute weapon for Navy. Formerly an offensive midfielder, the new LSM caused a career-best six turnovers and vacuumed up four ground balls to help the Midshipmen to a 16-12 win over Bucknell.

Oh, and he showed that he’s still got offensive chops as he also handed out an assist. His older brother, ’22 Smash Jack Flaherty (Chaminade), scored twice for Navy. The Mids also got a pair of assists from ’23 Bandits Jack Ponzio (St. Anthony’s).

Hofstra 11, UMBC 10

’22 Smash Anthony Mollica (Massapequa) popped off for a career-high six goals – the last of which held up as the game-winner – as the Pride fended off UMBC’s comeback bid. Mollica also tacked on a pair of ground balls.

North Carolina 19, Brown 7

’23 Bandits Owen Duffy (St. Anthony’s) got the Carolina offense rolling with two goals and three assists and ’25 Shock LSM Parker McDonald (St. Anthony’s) vacuumed up four ground balls to pace the Tar Heels’ rout. ’25 Shock Anthony Raio (Half Hollow Hills West) scored once, while ’25 Shock Gary Merrill (St. Anthony’s) dished out an assist in the win.

’22 Smash Marcus Wertheim (Smithtown East) shouldered the offensive load for Brown with two goals and two assists. ’24 Wolfpack faceoff midfielder Michael Moon (St. Anthony’s) won a faceoff for the Bears.

Harvard 17, Michigan 7

’23 Bandits Jack Speidell (St. Anthony’s) poured in four goals, set up another and snagged four ground balls as the Crimson ran away from the Wolverines. ’23 Bandits Jackson Greene (St. Anthony’s) tallied for Harvard for the second straight game.

Syracuse 12, Johns Hopkins 8

’22 Smash Joey Spallina (Mount Sinai) was back at it for the Orange, pairing four goals with three assists to fuel Syracuse’s win. Spallina also added a ground ball in the win, as did ’22 Smash Michael Leo (St. Anthony’s) and ’23 Bandits SSDM Jake Spallina (Mount Sinai). ’24 Wolfpack LSM Vinny Bolognino (Harborfields) snagged three ground balls and caused a turnover for the Orange.

’23 Bandits LSM Luke Martin (St. Anthony’s) caused a turnover and grabbed a ground ball for the Blue Jays.

Albany 14, Hobart 10

’22 Smash defenseman Max Neeson (Pottsgrove, Pa.) caused a pair of turnovers and gobbled up two ground balls to pace the Great Danes. ’22 Smash faceoff midfielder Austin Oppenheim (Mount Sinai) won eight of 14 faceoffs to go with a half-dozen ground balls. ’23 Warriors James Reid (Sachem North) secured a pair of ground balls, and ’25 Shock SSDM Matt Pettis (Massapequa) took the ball away once as Albany won.

Notre Dame 9, Ohio State 8

’22 Smash Brock Behrman (Salisbury, Conn.) snared a ground ball to help the Irish hand the Buckeyes their first loss.

’22 Smash SSDM Jaden Baldwin (St. Dominic) caused a turnover to highlight the Seawolves’ standout defensive performance.

’24 Wolfpack defenseman Aidan McMinn (Ward Melville) scooped up a ground ball for the Bearcats.

Boston University 14, Lehigh 13

’24 Wolfpack Ben Morris (Bayport-Blue Point) paired a goal with an assist to lead the Terriers to a dramatic overtime win.

’24 Wolfpack Luke Breslin (St. Anthony’s) led the Mountain Hawks with a hat trick and a helper.

Maryland 13, Delaware 8

’25 Shock Matty Higgins (Boys’ Latin, Md.) cashed in on his second straight two-assist game to pace the Terps. ’19 Orange defenseman Mikey Alexander (West Islip) picked up a ground ball in the win.

Marist 16, Mount St. Mary’s 9

’23 Warriors LSM Michael Cassano (MacArthur) was a force for the Red Foxes, combining a goal, an assist, two ground balls and a takeaway. ’21 Blaze defenseman Aiden McCaffrey (Comsewogue) was excellent off the ground with four ground balls and three takeaways for Marist.

Yale 15, Fairfield 14

’22 Smash defenseman Patrick Pisano (Cold Spring Harbor) did yeoman’s work on the ground, picking up a half-dozen ground balls and causing two turnovers as the Bulldogs on in overtime.

Penn 10, Villanova 6

’24 Wolfpack defenseman Dante Vardaro (St. Anthony’s) had his first career goal and first career assist, along with two ground balls and a takeaway to lead the defense, as the Quakers fended off their Philly rival.

’23 Bandits Nik Barbero (Ward Melville) tossed out two assists and added two ground balls to help the Saints tame the Bobcats. He also picked up a ground ball in the win over the Dolphins.

’23 Warriors Nick Meoni (Sachem North) pilfered a pair of takeaways and grabbed a ground ball for the Bobcats. ’21 Blaze goalie Mason Oak (Comsewogue) made eight saves in split duty, while ’23 Warriors Cole Marsala (Mount Sinai) set up a goal.

’21 Blaze SSDM Ryan Baudo (St. Anthony’s) scooped up a pair of ground balls to help the Sharks improve to 5-1.

’22 Smash Brady West (South Side) handed out an assist and secured a ground ball as the Greyhounds sprinted to their fourth straight win.

Richmond 14, Georgetown 10

’22 Smash SSDM James Carretta (Mount Sinai) won two faceoffs, caused a turnover and grabbed a ground ball for the Hoyas.

’21 Ambush Casey Fortunato‘s (Northport) second goal of the game stood up as the game-winner in the Rams’ tight win over Utica. Fortunato finished with five ground balls and a takeaway in the win. ’23 Warriors Joey Forchelli (MacArthur) scored twice, grabbed four ground balls and took the ball away once.

Forchelli sparked the Rams’ rout of EastConn with a superb five-goal, four-assist, four-ground ball day. Fortunato rounded it out with a goal, two helpers, two takeaways and three ground balls.

’24 Menace LSM Khari Freeman (Poly Prep) nearly willed Denison past the Hornets with four takeaways, three ground balls and an assist after chipping in a caused turnover and a ground ball in the rout of Adrian.

’23 Warriors Peter Urso (Bay Shore) helped the Cardinals topple Curry on the strength of a goal and two assists. He also tacked on a goal and a loose ball against Utica.

’23 Warriors Nicky Cairo (Oceanside) buried a goal to help the Panthers roll.

’25 Hornets Nolan Chamberlain (Sachem East) collected his first collegiate ground ball in the win.

’23 Warriors defenseman Ryan Thorne (Newfield) grabbed two ground balls and caused a turnover for USMMA.

’25 Hornets Joey Zarcone (Northport) was a force on the back end for Oswego, grabbing a combined four ground balls and adding a pair of caused turnovers. ’25 Hornets Nick Spinner (Northport) put a combined goal and two ground balls.

’23 Warriors Cody Suhr (Sachem North) and ’25 Hornets Joey D’Orazio (Sachem East) each had two goals and a ground ball in the WestConn win. ’25 Hornets Thomas Keegan (Sachem North) chipped in an assist, five ground balls and a takeaway.

Suhr tacked on a goal against the Hawks, while Keegan chipped in a goal and a ground ball.
