The Quakers upset No. 11 Villanova, 13-11, and upended Saint Joseph’s, 13-6, to sweep both of its games at the Philly 4 Lacrosse Classic for their first two wins of the year.
Team 91 alum Sean Lulley played a big role in securing those two wins. The former Half Hollow Hills East star bagged a goal, an assist and two ground balls against the Wildcats, and he added a goal in the win over the Hawks.
Penn State 19, Cornell 13
Penn State 24, Jacksonville 11
More ridiculous offensive output from the Nittany Lions, and two more hat tricks for Mac O’Keefe. O’Keefe went off for six goals, four ground balls and a caused turnover in the win over the Big Red in a matchup of top-6 teams. He followed it up by burying three more goals to go with a pair of ground balls in the romp of the Dolphins. Penn State ascended to No. 1 nationally in this week’s rankings.
Virginia 14, Brown 13
The ‘Hoos went to overtime for the third straight game and came away with their third consecutive win. Ian Lavianowas a monster again, scoring four goals for the third time in four games.
Yale 17, Michigan 11
Lucas Cotler hammered home a pair of goals as the Bulldogs pulled away from the Wolverines. Kevin Mack kept Michigan in it with a three-goal, two-assist, one-ground ball day.
Air Force 19, Detroit Mercy 9
Vin Lombardi made sure the Titans couldn’t get much going offensively by causing three turnovers and collecting a pair of ground balls as the Falcons won their second straight.
Georgetown 18, Furman 6
Georgetown 19, Fairfield 6
Fairfield 21, Siena 15
Joe LiCalzi picked up four ground balls against the Stags and one against the Paladins as the Hoyas rolled to a pair of blowout wins. Taylor Strough countered with a goal and an assist for Fairfield. Strough went off earlier in the week against Siena, pairing a hat trick with two assists and two ground ballas as the Stags held off the Saints in a shootout.
Lehigh 11, Army 8
Mike Monitto had a ground ball as the Mountain Hawks moved to 2-0 in the Patriot League.
Duke 12, Loyola 7
Jordan Ginder won a faceoff for the Blue Devils, who upended the Greyhounds in a battle of top-5 teams.
UMass 14, Albany 8
Maryland 14, Albany 9
Steven Ramirez bagged a goal against both the Minutemen and Terps, and also added a ground ball in the Maryland game.
UMass Lowell 13, Dartmouth 8
Jack Richardson caused a turnover for the Big Green.
NJIT 8, Monmouth 5
Casey Kimmel had a goal for the Hawks.
Delaware 10, Binghamton 6
Tom Galgano collected two ground balls for the Bearcats.
