It's already hard enough to beat Ward Melville as is. Not scoring any goals makes that, well, impossible.

The Patriots got another standout defensive performance from Pat O'Neill ('19 Orange/Brown) and Frankie Ciniglio ('19 Orange/Cornell) en route to an 11-0 whitewashing of Huntington on Saturday.

Ward Melville stretched its mark of consecutive quarters without allowing a goal to six after holding Half Hollow Hills East off the scoreboard in the second half of Thursday's 8-4 win.

Commack 11, Smithtown East 10Blake Behlen ('19 Orange/Towson) handed out five assists, none more important than the one to set up the overtime game-winning goal to help Commack to its first win of the year.

Bay Shore 12, Riverhead 9: Jayson Tingue ('20 Crush/UMBC) was a force with 13 saves as Bay Shore dealt Riverhead its first loss.

St. Anthony's 13, Delbarton 4: Brennan O'Neill ('20 Crush/Duke) paved the way for the Friars with a hat trick and an assist, while Andrew McAdorey ('20 Crush) and Aidan Danenza ('20 Crush/Duke) each added a goal and an assist as the Friars rolled in a marquee battle of nationally-ranked teams.

“We have something special out here this year,” O'Neill told Newsday's Gregg Sarra. “We have an amazing faceoff guy in [Jake] Naso and a lot of talent everywhere. I came to play here because it’s a great schedule.”

Greg Campisi ('19 Orange/Harvard), "worked the midfield and was responsible for numerous takeaways and setting the Friars offense in motion," per Sarra.

Garden City 11, Salesianum 4: Gavin Pappas ('19 White/Denison) dished out two assists to go with a goal and Will Puccio ('19 White/Trinity) scored once as the Trojans hammered the defending Delaware state champions.

Smithtown West 17, Whitman 6The Bulls came running out of the gates, scoring 15 times in the first half on way to an easy win. Danny Caddigan ('21 Blaze) tallied four times and added three assists, while Marc Cottage ('19 White/Wingate) flipped that stat line with three goals and four assists. Spencer Frank ('19 White/Hartford) tacked on a goal and two assists.

Lindenhurst 12, North Babylon 1Matt Josefson ('20 Orange) set up two goals and Ron Durante ('20 Orange) stopped eight shots as the Bulldogs cruised.

Sachem North 17, Copiague 0: Matt Keegan ('21 Blaze) paired a hat trick with three assists in Sachem North's shutout.

Long Island Lutheran 14, Monsignor Farrell 10: Jackson Greene ('23 Bandits) set up two goals and scored one for good measure as Lutheran claimed the win.

Bethpage 16, MacArthur 9Brandon Bestany ('19 White/McDaniel) sniped once in Bethpage's rout.

South Side 13, Port Washington 8: Brady West ('22 Smash) buried a goal to guide South Side, which won despite 10 saves from AJ Galassi ('19 White/Cornell)

West Islip 14, Patchogue-Medford 4: Jared Paquette ('19 White/Yale) made a pair of saves while splitting time and West Islip rolled despite a goal from Pat-Med's Adrian Rutkowski ('20 Orange)

Mineola 11, East Meadow 6: Chris Barry ('21 Blaze) paced East Meadow with a goal and two assists.
