Coaching Philosophy:  I use the E. A. T. philosophy

(Effort, Attitude, Toughness)   All three of these are consistent with great athletes.

Influential Coaches: Coaches that influenced me as a player and coach are my high school football coach Fred Fusaro.  He taught me that hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard. 

My brother Doug Shanahan also has shaped me as a lacrosse coach.  His tremendous experience and ability to teach the game has impacted the way I teach the game. 

 

Why Do You Love Coaching For Team 91: I am lucky to be involved with 91 because I am surrounded by great coaches.  Team 91 is highly organized and is innovator on the club level.  The club is always evolving and improving over the last 7 years I have been with them. 

Coaching with 91 has been a great experience and I have such great memories of players improving and working hard to reach their goals.  Its amazing to see all the players  hard work on the 2023 warriors  put in over the years pay off as they reach the JV and varsity levels of lacrosse.
